Dummy traffic lights

A dummy light is a traffic light that stands on a pedestal in the middle of an intersection. There are at least three that still operate in the United States today, all located in New York State: Beacon, Canajoharie and Croton-on-Hudson. There have been number of requests in recent years for these traffic lights to be removed due to safety concerns, but the historic value has kept these landmarks at their original locations.
